Frequently Asked Questions
What is the maximum number of passengers the Victoria Star can carry?
The Victoria Star is licensed to carry up to 360 passengers. All security officers, catering staff, entertainers, etc are counted as passengers. Depending on your party size and what you have in mind we recommend the following as a guideline for your cruise:
- Finger Food Menu : 280 guests
- Buffet Menu: 130 guests
- Formal Table Service: 80 guests
- Uni Dance Party: 350 guests
How long does the cruise go for?
Our standard cruise package includes:
- 4hours 15min Exclusive Private Charter
- Boarding and bar service starts 15min before departure
- 4hours of continuous cruising
- 4hours of bar service
However, if you are being married on board it is recommended to extend your cruise by at least 30 minutes.
Is there wheelchair access?
Our Gangway is not wide enough allow wheelchairs to be wheeled on board. However, if the wheelchair and occupant can be carried on board, there is plenty of room for it to travel around and the Victoria Star is equipped with a wheelchair accessible disabled toilet on the main deck.
Will I get sea sick?
Victoria Star is a large stable vessel and our cruise will tour the smooth waters of the Yarra downstream to Williamstown. Cruising on Port Philip Bay will only occur when the seas are calm. It is therefore highly unlikely that you will suffer from any form of motion sickness.
Is there an age limit?
There is no age limit for your guests. We regularly have babies in prams and young family on board right through to grandparents in the 90’s. However the Victoria Star is fitted with a 12 run staircase connecting the main deck to the upper salon. We do ask that all children be fully supervised at all times by a responsible adult.
Is there a dress code?
Your dress code is up to you but we do insist that passengers wear footwear. For your private charter, many guests quite often have a theme for everyone to dress in a certain style of clothing.
Where does the Victoria Star depart from and is there public transport and parking nearby?
The Victoria Star departs from Dock 9, Central Pier, Docklands next to the Woolshed Pub. The pier is on Harbour Esplanade right opposite Channel 7. Trams are 100 metres away and the Southern Cross station is a ten minute walk away. The closest car parking is across the road at the Etihad Stadium.
Is smoking permitted?
Yes, but only on the outside decks. We have installed butt collectors for your convenience.
